Other carnivore projects

The Leo Foundation is actively involved in a number of regional West and Central Africa in support of the conservation of large carnivores like the African Wild Dog and the Cheetah, funded by WWF and IUCN NL.

Other activities

The Leo Foundation intends to initiate twinning arrangements between Dutch nature conservation organizations and National Parks in Africa, which play an important role in lion conservation. Main aim of the twinning arrangement is the exchange of information between the partners in order to create mutual awareness and understanding. Financial transactions between twinning partners may be possible, but are not a starting point. It is the intention of the foundation to attract the attention of a wider public for our projects by means of:
  • Leaflet distribution among a wide audience, e.g. Dutch schools
  • Posters to inform target groups at the project sites
  • Publish articles in scientific journals to present the results of our projects
  • Media and news papers to draw attention to our projects
